Allow me to expres my gratitiude, your encouragement to write my own report/appraisel of my reaction to the crash and the injuries it caused. I think your proposal was unorthodox and perhaps unprecedented, but it contributed to the success of the claim.

It might be useful if reports by the victims become common practice, which could open up the thinking of all concerned parties to the implications of opening vehicle doors onto cyclists--instantaneous death or crushing injuries.

I have not read the Highway Code recently, but I understand that is some countries on the Continent hitting a cyclists with with a car door is an absolute offence.

Hence, if this practice were to gain circulation, enlightenment could shine at the top--our leaders the law makers--the place where this kind of initiative proscription is born.
