Parked car passenger abruptly opens his door in to the path of a cyclist.

Injuries / damage

Bruising and grazing to forearm and right arm. Swollen hip and left thumb. Cut to left leg and front shin. We also recovered damages for a weekend flight that our client was unable to travel on, and secured an interim payment of £1,429 towards a replacement bike.

What happened?

At approximately 7:30 am our client was riding his bike on the Old Kent Road when the third party, sitting in a parked car, abruptly opened the front offside door. There was insufficient time for our client to avoid the door and was thrown into the road.
